During intermission, they will come to your seat to see if you want to purchase the photo. There is plenty of seating in the dock area, and we were thankful that my dad could just sit and relax until the Captain’s Club Ticket holders were called to board. We have vacationed many times in Branson through the years, but we had never been on the Branson Belle. The Showboat Branson Belle was launched in 1995 from the shipyard at White River Landing located on the 800-mile shoreline of Table Rock Lake.

There were five people in our party and we all chose the Signature Angus Ribeye. Everyone in the general seating area was having just as good a time as we were in the premium seating area. We decided to purchase the Captain’s Club tickets for our family to get priority boarding for my elderly father, who has trouble walking distances so he would not have to stand in the long general boarding line. Nestled along the Gulf of Mexico, the Port of Galveston is a bustling hub for cruise enthusiasts. For instance, we recently sailed from Galveston and foggy weather made us arrive late (9 a.m.) to the port. Then it took another hour before people started to get off the ship. The ferry runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, but the line can be backed up during the busy summer months. If you’d like to ride, simply park in the lot next to the ferry and walk aboard instead of driving.
If it's swanky digs you're after (and you have the money to spend), you'll find plenty of options on this ship. Carnival Breeze also offers a water park with waterslides on its top decks, a miniature golf course, a sports court for basketball and volleyball, and multiple pools. That said, Carnival Breeze still has a huge amount to offer for all sorts of travelers, from couples to families with kids. The ship was, notably, the first Carnival ship to feature a 4D "thrill theater" and one of the first Carnival ships with a ropes course, both attractions that appeal heavily to teens and tweens.

Alas, Norwegian Prima only is based in Galveston seasonally for the winter, from December to March. It offers seven-night sailings to the Western Caribbean with calls in Roatan, Honduras; Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico; and Harvest Caye, Belize. It dates to 1998 and is the oldest cruise ship regularly sailing out of Galveston. But it still feels modern, thanks to major makeovers in recent years. Based seasonally in Galveston from December to April, Disney Magic offers the best cruises out of Galveston for the Disney fan. It is, for the record, the only Disney Cruise Line ship that sails from Galveston.
It is more than just a docking point for cruise ships; it’s got gift shops, restaurants, and tour operators, making it an adventure of its own. Your excursion to places such as Altun Ha starts with a bus ride through the town. With charming local tour guides giving you the history of the place along the way. Other excursions to ruin sites such as Lamanai, will have you take a bus ride and a boat ride to get to the site. While we didn't have time to visit the famous blue hole, we did still make it out to the barrier reef.
Things to do in Belize City cruise port
A causeway will connect to North Drowned Cayes (approx 2 mi / 3 km away from Belize City) where will be built a terminal with parking (for ~200 shuttle and tour buses). In August 2017, the Government signed an Investment Agreement with Stake Bank Enterprise Ltd (SBEL / part of Feinstein Group of Companies). The company will build a new "Cruise Ship Docking Facility" (passenger terminal) in Belize City. The development project also includes building a resort and theme park on Stake Bank Caye - an island located approx 5 ml (7,5 km) southeast of Belize City (10-min boat ride). Passengers are tendered to Belize City cruise port terminal via high-speed boats (approx 20 min ride). Altun Ha is just ~ 10 km / 6 mi from the coast and covers an area of ~65 km2 / 25 mi2.

This tiny island (75 acres) is a cool place to enjoy a relaxing beach day. Harvest Caye features a pretty lagoon and large beach with loungers, cabanas and villas to rent. You also can enjoy the zipline, ropes course and four bars -- including one with a swim-up bar.
The park is also home to several rare and exotic bird species, including toucans and hummingbirds. Once you're ready, you'll float down the Sibun River, with your guide pointing out various geological formations along the way. You'll make your way through a series of caves that vary in size and shape, experiencing the thrill of passing through narrow passages that open up to spacious chambers. You'll even have the opportunity to jump off small cliffs or swim in the cool, refreshing water. Before embarking on your adventure, you'll receive an orientation to prepare you for the cave's unique environment. You'll also be provided with a life jacket, caving helmet, headlamp, and professional guide to ensure your experience is both safe and unforgettable.

The site offers a glimpse into the history and culture of the Mayans and provides a unique opportunity to learn about the incredible civilization that once called Belize home. Back at the ship, we didn't even waste time going back to our room, we just boarded the tender and headed for shore. Unlike some of the other ports that we have visited, once you leave the Fort Street Tourism Village there isn't much to see and do. There is, however, the cliche sign announcing to the world where you are - so we had to take a photo there. Afterwards, we made our way toward downtown Belize City to walk around and visit a few of the shops. At the base of the Swing Bridge there is a little restaurant on the water that has an outdoor patio called Rustic Korner so we stopped in for some more local food and drinks.
